BHAVYA’S TULASIVANMA SRI VENKATESHWARA SWAMY BRAHMOTSAVALU
Srivari Brahmotsavalu is very important annualfete
celebrated at Bhavyas Tulasivanam every year in the month of May by Sri Anand
Prasad Garu and Krishna Kumari Garu. This event is celebrated for 6 days.
During this festival the Utsava Murti(Processional diety) of
Lord Venkateshwara along with Bhudevi and Sridevi will be taken on a procession
on different Vahanams around the blocks of Tulasivanam, this procession appears
exactly the same as how the Tirumala Brahmotsavalu procession is done on the
streets(Madaveedulu) on Tirumala.
During these six days there will be Abhishekams and daily
Homas performed and in the evenings the utsava-murtis are decorated with
different Ornaments and alankarams based
on the Vaahanam.
All the residents, kids, elders and old aged people of
Tulasivanam feel blessed to actively participate in performing kolatam, singing
keertanas, natyam and serving in annaprasadam .
Anukurarpana: Day 1 of Brahmostavalu starts with Vaasthu
Homam, Harthi, Agni Prathishta and Punyahavachanam.
Dwajarohanam: Day
2 of Brahmotsavalu starts with Dwajarohanam which means hoisting
flag(dhwajapatam) on the top of Dwajasthambam of the Temple. It is hoisted amid
vedic chanting .It is believed that the prasadam offered as part of this will
bless the childless couples and hence devotees wait to have the prasadam on
this day.
After Dwajarohanam , in the evening Seshavahana Uthsavam ,
During this Seshavahan Uregimpu, where the diety is on Seshavahanam and residents
perform Kolatam with Sesha(Snake) Cope, which is mesmerizing to observe the
devotees dancing to form the serpant and swaying to the devotional music.
Hanumantha
Vaahanothsavam: Day 3 of Brahmotsavalu starts with Srivari Abhishekam,
Unjal Seva and in the evening there starts the Hanumantha Vaahana Uregimpu
where the diety is on Hanuma Vaahanam, There is a Kolatam performance again
with a cope to resemble Hanuman and it is an eye feast to watch this
performance and the entire environment is filled with holy chanting of Govinda
namalu.
Garuda Vahana
Uthsavam: Day 4 of Bhrahmotsavalu starts with Thomala Seva, On this day
there is a special Uregimpu of Mohini Tiruchi Utsavam, during this procession,
devotees are believed to see the diety in the mirror and not directly, the
Utsava murthi is decorated as Mohini avataram and it’s a blessing to watch him
in the mirror.
In the evening it is followed by Sri Vari Garuda Vaahana
Uthsavam, where the diety is on the Garuda Vahanma and the Kolatam is performed
to resemble Garuda .
Kalyanothsavam:
Day 5 of Brahmotsavalu is celebrated with 2 most important processions that is
Radhotsavam and Srivari Kalyanam. Radhotsavam
will start in the morning at 6:00 A.M. This is symbol of worshipping Surya
Bhagavan (Sun God), Devotees tow the Radham and perform Kolatam and Chidathalu
dances. In the evening there will be Kalyanothsavam performed in presence of
large number of couples and families , There will be live keertanas ,recitation
of vedic mantras and homas performed. The
Kalyanam is performed by priests exactly in the same way as it is in Tirumala
Kalyanotsavam.
Vasanthothsavam:
Day 6 , the last day of Brahmotsavalu , this is much awaited by devotees ,when
the diety is taken around on procession, they play with colors and enjoy this
procession in a divine full manner. This is followed by Chakra snanam which is
performed after special abhishekam held for processional diety along with Sridevi and Bhudevi.
The evening concludes with Ashwa(Horse) vahanam as his vehicle symbolizing the forthcoming
Kalki Avathara. The devotees perform Kolatam and they offer harathi and coconuts
to vahanam in front of every block.
Finally late in the evening after the uregimpu(procession)
of the vahanam , dhwajavarohanam will be performed where the flag(Garuda dwaja)
is lowered as a mark of completion of
Brahmotsavalu amid the chant of various mantras.
Then they perform poornahuthi ,Visesha Naivedhyam,
Brahmagosha and Ekanthaseva and concludes the Brahmotsavalu.
